Not sure why TV Forum no longer has a thread on the BBC News Channel. I wanted to comment on Beyond 100 Days (or whatever it's called) which is on the News Channel but nowhere to put it. So I'll put it here as they were covering the US election...

Christian was on the weather balcony from 9 until half past, and now seems to be in Studio C. Firstly, is this the first use of the weather balcony since COVID, and secondly, how far it it between the two. Did he just get the lift down?

They can justify taking the usual daytime shows off for the UK Election coverage because it matters more to viewers here but the US elections really only needs to be covered by GMB and they can cover it a bit on the other shows but not let it dominate the schedules.

There might be great interest in the election but I don't know if the majority of Brits care about anything other than whether Trump has won or not. Most people probably don't care so much for the minutiae of every single district.

And to that extent I've seen virtually no coverage of how voting is going in the Senate elections or for the House of Representatives in this election.

There are two NBC News Update telecasts today on the NBC Network. The announcer says
Quote:
This is an NBC News Update, the Vote for America’s Future . Here is Lester Holt.

Is the peacock using an unused announcement from the 2018 election coverage?

Seems now that C4 were pretty wise not to schedule their Last Leg Election special before Friday.

45 days ago, Asa posted this. It was a glorious day for the forum. Now new and interesting information like that can be posted in new threads where we can all ponder the question.

I guess one consequence of social distancing is that CNN has abandoned its eight pundits seated around a table format.

They are still there - just spread across NY and DC. They just haven't used them that much as the results are so tight and the 'magic wall' is much more interesting than commentary. However, as soon as the result is declared - I expect a revert to form with non-stop studio and WebEx talking heads.

And this morning they also did Early Start from its usual studio - complete with its own magic wall and Phil Mattingley heading over to that studio.

The regular Sky News theme tune returned now before Press Preview.

Looks like they’ll have to drop the second press preview to accommodate trumps speech, i assume bbc will do the same.

What’s the point of a new thread for each titbit of information. There should just be a thread for each channel/show or major event.

I disagree with the thing about posting new topics. I’m interested in stuff about the BBC News Channel. If I see a new post in that thread I’ll read it. If it’s a new topic I won’t.

That’s a shame, I think they should’ve kept it until coverage from the Washington studio is finished.
