If it wasn't for the game I think a 4.30pm slot for a flop Saturday night show would have been a favourable option.

Next Saturday it clashes with the FA Cup on BBC2 (assuming that goes ahead) which would cause an even bigger scheduling headache than this week if a briefing is scheduled.

Surely now Downing Street need to reinstate regular briefings on weekdays at least.

Looks like reetas not getting a well earned break after that coverage.

So in summary (as seen via the BBC)

Lousy camera racking at Downing St (despite having three hours to sort out)

Lip Sync miles out on Downing Street wide shot camera (a problem that has existed since March)

Scan converters (aka Powerpoint PC to SDI) totally botched, so (important) slides were cropped

BBC director not paying attention, and letting ticker obscure slides

Nothing for the industry to be proud about, amazing to think we've been doing it since 1936

That’s what happens when one broadcaster does the main and one does the cuts and it’s fed via different paths to get to the relevant galleries.

Anything else? Would you like Broadcasting House moved a bit to the left or...?

Bonkers. Needs to be resolved and rationalised.

Technically it's a simple gig. Three presenters in a well lit room, in Central London. Two camera shoot with cuts to graphics and a Zoom client. When you compare it to a 28 camera live football match, or SCD, or X Factor, it's so simple (particularly with 100 or so indentical broadcasts since March), Why do you think my criticism is unjustified?

A quick glance at Twitter suggests people are unanimously in favour of watching "the dancing show" over a repeat of what we were told 8 months ago. Either you've wildly misread the mood of the nation or you're angling for a job in the Daily Mail's anti BBC department .

Surely that's the entirety of the Daily Mail, not just a mere department therein? (c.f. "the Nazi party's fascism & antisemitism department")
