And Inside Central Station is hardly a groundbreaking format, Channel 5 did exactly the same at Paddington.

Certainly not ground breaking I admit but one of the most interesting.

I've been quite enjoying the Home of the Year format (which appears to have been bought in from Denmark) - I think largely because it's only half an hour, so it's quite good for dipping into.

Television had largely forgotten the benefit of half hour shows, but I would say they are slowly creeping back into the schedules over the last couple of years.

I guess it all comes down to cost - a one hour show is probably cheaper to produce than 2 half hours, particularly when it’s padded with ‘after the break’ previews and ‘before the break’ recaps! (Not applicable to BBC Scotland) of course.

One thing I’ve just noticed is that 7 Days is now on at 11pm Sunday, though by the fact that the sun is shining, it’s obviously pre-recorded.

16 days later

Disaster for Great Escapes in the ratings. I would have expected it to build or at least retain an audience but ep.3 managed below 28k whereas ep.2 achieved 61k (source: BARB).

The Nine is coming from the Reporting Scotland set I think?

Yup - due to a leaky roof, according to Martin at the top of the show.

I must say - it’s a nice change and I prefer the temporary home. Hope the roof leaks more often Very Happy

Disagree - really like the atrium set which The Nine uses

Yes, who'd want to see more of a generic set which looks like every other bulletin on the BBC?

The Nine is the best BBC News show there is. Well produced, well presented, looks great.

It still astounds me that on network we ended up with those huge, ugly blocky graphics when the Nine nailed it just a few months previously.

Still don't like those titles though.
