Longer term if The X Factor does end up returning next year as supposedly planned and as if it was never axed then being missing this year won't seem so unusual considering the situation, and perhaps the break (effectively two years considering the show as we knew it didn't air last year) will do it good - though only if Cowell has learned from it. Which he probably hasn't.
I can see it playing out like that. I’d love a decent normal series but I think Cowell needs to be off-screen for that. Hopefully a back-to-basics approach either way with minimal (obvious at least) manipulation.
Assuming it HAD been quietly axed, it’s possible the chances of XF returning in 2021 have now risen as the schedules will be so devoid of drama next year. Shiny floor stuff- which is obviously much easier to film given all the restrictions- will dominate.
X-factor was renewed for a one series deal either at the end of last year or the start of this year at the same time BGT got a multi year (five?) pick up, but it was noted that this year would be a rest for X-factor
The Cube must be back rehearsing or filming now, or is that the rectangular cuboid? (If Schofe says it then it must be true! Taken from his Instagram)
It’s most likely as the ‘cube’ doesn’t have exactly equal side lengths. I doubt they’ll call it The Rectangular Cuboid, it doesn’t have the same ring to it.

So, where is this being recorded then?
The fact that the label for lighting hoist 25 in clearly visable in the grid, rules out film stages.
So, TC1 or Studio D at Elstree?
