Unfortunately this saga shows that the BBC needs a new Political Editor. Repeatedly, over the past number of years, the actions of Laura Kuenssberg show that she’s not up to the job. She’s far too often part of the story instead of reporting on the story. I don’t doubt her personal integrity but the BBC’s coverage was hamstrung this weekend due to the fact she was so closely aligned to the story. The BBC wasn’t able to field their top team because she was part of the story. Equally Brillo is up to his neck in it, due to his duties at the Spectator. This is is not a political rant but one of bias in Andrew Neil’s case and shear ineptitude on the part of Laura K.

Maybe she has become the story to the likes of us on TV Forum and the haters on Twitter but to the general public who just watch the news, she hasn't become the story at all. To most people she wasn't on the coverage over the weekend because it was a weekend, not because the BBC couldn't field their top team as you put it. Andrew Neil hasn't been part of the coverage since before lockdown so why should he be part of the coverage this weekend?

Judging by the M3 motorway last night, the rest of England's population were at the beach, or maybe the 3.7 million all live in Wales, Scotland, and NI

How did they find out who he is and his contact details and arrange an interview so quickly? In other news James Matthews is coming under fire for travelling down to Durham from Scotland to doorstep Cummings' parents.

Probably found him on social media.

He's a key worker so I don't quite understand the big deal. Entertaining how the Spectator couldn't be bothered to find a proper screenshot in their (pointless) article so they just took one from Twitter.

As I saw somebody say on Twitter (unfortunately I forget who), that's 1.85 million collective hours lost waiting for him to come out late!

But in the briefing he was just named as Martin from Brighton.

A quick look at the Diocese covering Brighton website would track down a CofE minister easily via the online directories therein, they'd get matches of around a dozen matches for Brighton and then choose by Christian names, they'd probably locate in one or two hits.

Alternatively a search on Crockford, the CofE national directory, which they'd almost certainly have a subscription would find him easily.
