Coronavirus - Impact on live/recorded shows

Several talk programmes have cancelled studio audiences (March 2020)

Quite surprised by that - I know it's more of a vehicle for him and aiming more to raise a smile than be the next Watchdog, but I'd have thought considering the need of such shows to have a right of reply for the companies called into question it would be filmed much closer to broadcast.

Good though to have some non-webcam entertainment on Friday nights.

Pre-recording a couple of months in advance doesn't really affect their right to reply. If anything it gives more time to companies to provide a response.

I guess it could be argued that certain circumstances could change between then and now but it's nothing a voiceover at the end or a caption wouldn't put right.

Yeah, he mentioned in his interview that everything was filmed before lockdown.

There was a piece in Broadcast the other week which said all the exterior filming had been completed but they had two studio recordings to do, which they were intending to do without an audience.

Did The Mash Report have some sort of controversial Boris comment that might have been seen as inappropriate after last night's news or something? Friday's episode isn't available on iPlayer.

It's back on iPlayer but with a ~7 minute Nish section missing.

One thing I hate about on demand TV (and even +1) and why I always try and record shows to avoid any censorship that follows. I watched the show and can't think of anything particularly inappropriate that was said - and those that complain about it would be the usual suspects who complain about it anyway.

And there was me thinking they used non-working props.

I dare not think how much more it would cost to custom build a fake than to buy a real one off the shelf.

Very odd that they would have real ventilators. Presumably these must be second-hand units that can be easily refurbished?

On a similar note: could Casualty's ambulances be able to be put (back) in service, provided crew and medical supplies could be found for them?

And there was me thinking they used non-working props.

One would certainly hope the defibrillators are non-working! Laughing

The Mash Report looked a lot better this week. Nish and Ellie had broadcast quality cameras at home.

Comparing the two episodes and I can’t see a major difference. However I am comparing on my phone.
Matthew_Fieldhouse, bitxoin and Josh gave kudos

Holby City and Casualty use a supplier which provides real medical equipment for Broadcast.
