And they wouldn't put nightime branding on a menu for programmes on during daytime

Interesting to see a very basic plain logo used as the ident into GMTV - it's not even a still from the generic ident, which had a subtle gradient on the logo. I don't recall ever seeing a menu design like that either.

I wonder if the slightly dodgy transition to the ITV logo meant something wasn't quite right that morning.

I'm sure I've seen a clip of the last day of TV-am being introduced with a plain ITV logo.

Yes, that was connected to the old Thames-run ITV nightime service, I believe.

Alan Shearer (who was out injured for the first half that season) taking part in the draw at Lancaster Gate alongside Nat Lofthouse. Notice they just read out the numbers and put the balls on display rather than put it in full view of the camera.

14:27 is the pick of the round.
