The end board for Icons has been screwed up from the start. It's always had the day/time in the wrong font. But they now seem to have gone out of their way to introduce Verdana to the programme title too.
Though, there has been a bit of an improvement in standards on some of the newer trails introduced recently.
So we were talking about inconsistencies a week or so ago, and this gem pops up.

Are they meant to be all the same? Surely having a choice of fonts to match programme content is just as valid to be specified in the design rules? We haven't seen them have we?
What is odd that I've seen a couple where the font changes midway through as the background animates. Maybe that's part of the reason why different ones are used?
Yes because one person recreating old stuff in his spare time is the same.
And of course it's worth remembering that having consistant graphic design and fonts on TV presentation is a relatively new idea. I don't know what vintage the stuff is he recreates but if it's pre 90s it wouldn't originally have been consistant at all

And to think that Dave Jeffrey can make impeccably accurate mocks, recreations and actual slides yet the BBC can't event have consistent or accurate graphics.

Yep - that seems to be a standard variation - but I think all the fonts in that font-change animation are Reith variants.
I spotted the Icons trailer using a non-standard typeface, and it stuck out to me. I'm pretty certain that the branding aim was for them to be Reith. My guess is it was a mistake or the usual After Effects template was, for some reason, not used in the edit.

It felt like a repackaged Greatest Britons to me with a wider focus. Just felt like I saw it before and I just avoided it. The best thing about it is that we get more opportunities to see Bold.
