It’s most likely because in the original it breaks the logo, leaving a part behind, rather than now where the pieces are just knocked out of place and all start to fall together.

Well that another of the new set has turned up 'Porkanism'
Yeah the latest E4 one to pop up appeared in the 9pm junction this evening. Seems BBC Two isn't the only channel to have gained an odd fluffy creature this September...

Its like there have merged the Sting and idents together.
More4 HD currently using the old logo, looks as though they didn’t update the ‘HD’-less logo that’s shown during SD shows, it’s correct on standard More4.
I’ve just spotted this error on Father Ted - they haven’t updated the 4:3 DOG to the new logo on More4 HD, so you’ve got a situation where SD is showing the new logo and HD is showing the old one.
Seems they've forgotten about SD programming on E4 HD as well, The Inbetweeners is currently going out with the old DOG on HD and the new one on SD. I'm surprised playout haven't swapped them with the HD DOG's, it would be better than letting the old branding go out.
Seeing the old DOG again does serve as a reminder how much better the old logo was than the new one.
I was slightly surprised to see E4 cross-promoting 4seven at 5pm, but it appears that from this week 4seven’s evening schedule now includes triple bills of Everybody Loves Raymond and Frasier (not the same episodes as shown in the morning on Channel 4 though - so it’s not a UK Gold 2 style schedule for those of you who remember that)

It might coincide with the deal that was announced last week with CBS, both shows falling under CBS Productions (I know that Frasier was made by Paramount but distribution is now CBS). It’s similar to how The Simpsons is now on 4Seven on Saturdays. It’s not a bad idea, especially if you’re not at home in the mornings.
Something else I noticed about Everybody Loves Raymond is that Channel 4 are still using the SD 4:3 copies of the later episodes. By that point they were being produced in 16:9 HD, and actually produced two separate versions of each episode with the HD captions being outside the 4:3 safe area. So on the episodes going out on C4 you're missing part of the picture (the original picture, not re-framed for 16:9 like Friends)

I’ve not really seen Raymond so I can’t comment, but certainly the last couple of series of Frasier were filmed in HD also, Channel 4 have never shown them outside of 4:3 (quite literally) but Comedy Central did when it used to be shown on there.
I believe the DVD set of ELR is available with all episodes from Season 4 onwards in 16:9 so I'm surprised Channel 4 haven't updated their prints to get the HD versions of the show at least for the latter 6 seasons. It would probably mean having to heavily sanitise the show for the early morning broadcast they give it so they probably can't be bothered doing all that again!

If C4 have already got SD 4:3 masters under a current rights agreement, it would be unlikely they'd be replaced. The trigger for that would be renegotiating a new agreement I suspect.
