The Tens of both channels are the flagships in the UK, as they historically pre-internet and pre 24 hr news, got all the US afternoon news on board. The US in saner times had more or less wrapped the big stories up by 5pm Eastern too

(Editorialising - how quaint and boy wouldn't that be refreshing to get back to)

Has everyone noticed that there seems to be a full length regional news and national news tomorrow at 6pm, despite being a bank holiday?

Are they aware of some big news that will occur tomorrow? or will there be a change to the advertised schedule and we will join Paul O'Grady instead?

Scotland don't have a Bank Holiday tomorrow, so that's probably why there's full length bulletins.

Not usually the case though.

There isn't a full length regional news tomorrow bar Scotland.

Its BBC news @ 18.15
Local news @ 18.45
Tattoo @ 19.00

Scotland has
Its BBC news @ 18.15

This thread is about ITV which seems to have full length regional news UK wide rather than the BBC...

See a full length BBC national bulletin makes you paranoid they know something too. Is Theresa May walking in Snowdonia again?

Full length regional news in England, because it isn't a bank holiday in Scotland?

What's also bizarre is that BBC One have got Flog It 17:45-18:15 before their full length news, a show not usually given such a peak billing. The Ten is full (Friday) length as well.

Flog it being on could be a sign that something is expected as Flog It is often used as a droppable or filler programme.
Whatever it is has been known about for at least a couple of weeks as these are not last minute schedule changes, which means it is likely to be either something that they have been holding back or the preplanned release of some report.

What has happened to ITV News? Feels very sterile and bland these days, even this presenter who’s currently doing the weekend news has no personality or warmth.

How exciting do you expect the weekend news?
