I take it Lambeth Council will use that money to stockpile so it can build more than just 13 in the area? Or it just be singler plot with a big sign saying with thanks to ITV?

It's quite possible that's what they'll do with the cash. Would be nice to think of Ant & Dec Towers opening up in Streatham, mind.

I see the plans have upset their neighbours at IBM !

I know ITV have wanted the logo on the building for some time now (and had been refused planning to do so). Nice to see its part of the new plan, although that elevation isn't as pretty (imo) as the current building.

Just going through the plans on the Lambeth Council website - and for those without the time (or a PDF viewer)
Studio 3 (with audience seating so this is your Lorraine/ Loose Women studio folks, and the largest studio) is on the Basement/ground floor, centre of the building - looks like that area under the four trees
Studio 1 and 2 are on the first floor. St 2 is where the 13 is pointing to. Studio 1 is behind that.
Irritatingly, there are no studio floor space dimension obvious in the plan documents.
However, fair to say, that Studio 1 looks to be very, very small indeed. Good Morning Britain set sized, in fact.

Studio 2 looks big, I wonder if it's the same size or bigger than Studio 8, I do agree that Studio 1 looks small but I suspect that'll be fine for something like GMB.

Although the current logo is by far the best since the merger history suggests it'll have gone by the time these are built.

They've had a habit of rebranding every 7-9 years though, so it'd be interesting if they still have that logo by the time that's put into practice.

1989, 1998, 2006, 2013. So yeah, based on past history that logo only has two or three years left. Maybe they'll surprise us! After all, the BBC logo has remained unchanged since 1997.

I'd actually be surprised if they change the logo at any time soon. It's so much more distinctive, recognisable and iconic than anything they've ever had for ITV before, and I think it has the potential to become a true design classic. Ultimately it works, and the image of the company at the moment is strong, so why would they change it?

It'd have to be an unusual reason for them to completely rebrand again, like when they replaced the blue and yellow logo which had associations with the failed ITV Digital. The most likely reason I'd have thought for a logo change before the new building is completed would be if ITV was sold to another company.

Well unless they decide to make massive losses with digital TV rights or decide to make the main channel ITV1 again, I can't see a real reason why they'd rebrand before the time comes for them to move back in.

Then again, ITV could be owned by Disney by that time - maybe they'd redesign the offices as a Princess Castle on the South Bank. Very Happy

Lets not get started on that again! Wink
