Though planning permission or not the studios and the business is still closing. Redundancies are happening, contracts are running out and have been signed for the replacements, and the future bookings for TLS past a certain date just don't exist.

Let's hope it doesn't end up like Fountain, standing empty while it's decided what will happen

The other trick companies like to do is push ideas as far as there can, to see what it can get away with. So when something comes back there can make ( what appears to be connsisson) but was never part of the original idea and it looks like the council get some brownie points. Its possible ITV might have another studio built that could house something else. I still think ITV will end up building social housing else where

Can someone explain why housing is included in a proposal to redevelop what was essentially a business park - for the same company and same use?

Lack of affordable housing in that part of London maybe? (re. an earlier post, this is clearly going to be more of an issue for Sadiq Khan than it was for Boris Johnson - tbh London rejected Brexit, and then his party to the extent that they even lost *Kensington*, to such an extent that I can scarcely believe he was mayor so recently.)

Because the land is worth far more in residential sales than TV Studios. Just like TVC, Teddington, Fountain, Riverside, Capital etc
Stuart, Brekkie and Whataday gave kudos

And also a key funding element - the homes help fund the development.

Yep housing is very expensive in London, and that's a prime site with great views (well for those flats high enough and facing the river). Also if they've decided they don't want big studios any more then they've a heck of a big site to fill just with their offices

How many big studios will be avavible for love Saturday shows or like current let studio one?

Also did itv do the maths about the new studios opening and how it would compete with its own current studios?

Well there's 1 at TVC, a couple at Elstree, couple at Pinewood1, 1 at Riverside and the new one that X Factor uses, and a couple (?) at Maidstone

Probably not a factor, particularly as the ones opening are old ones reopening. Also running studios is not it's core business, the consideration will be how much it costs to run studios versus the cost if hiring them instead

I beleive Maidstone has closed a couple of its studios but the largest is still in use. Edit two still in use .12000 sq ft studio and 6000 sq ft studio. How does That compare to the other large studios.
