ITV doesnt do regional news bulletins on New Year's Day
Why does ITV never have regional news on New Years Day and Boxing Day? Christmas Day I can understand but Boxing Day/New Years Day should at least have an evening bulletin (like on weekends), im sure the BBC regions have a bulletin on Boxing Day.

Because it costs money. I think it's fair enough, unlike the random weekends bulletins get dropped.

Indeed so. 2 on Boxing Day this time around - lunch and early evening. I'm sure in the past there has only been the early evening on Boxing Day. Likewise today there is early and late evening whereas in the past I think it's just been early evening on New Years Day.

Depends what day it is and what the usual pattern for that day is. There would either be less or the same as what is usual, but not more.
Over Christmas on ITV it's always nothing on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day and a lunchtime and quite a decent length evening bulletin every other day except weekends when it's just a 5 min evening bulletin.
On the BBC you get no late regional news on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve or any day that falls on a Saturday, and no lunchtime bulletin on New Year's Day or any Saturday or Sunday.
The Wright Stuff will now be made at ITN Studios from next week, working in close co-operation with 5 News at ITN. I just wonder where in ITN they will be using? I thought all of the studios at ITN was in use?

Tyne Tees billing the 6pm show as ITV News Tyne Tees Tonight on the Sky EPG, slight mouthful. The national news as simply ITV News oddly too and not the Evening News?
