Never been a Corrie fan but loving the 1986 eps as a window in TV of the past - and particularly having had a good nosey round the set during the tour a couple of years ago, seeing how it was changed.
One question I have - when was the building behind the railway arch, that housed many of the sets (and comprised the indoor bit of the recent tour), brought into use? It looks pretty new but it clearly exists in the 86 repeats, when I'm fairly sure it wasn't being used by Corrie. In the final shot of the titles I think it's been painted out as you can see the "Granada tower" (or whatever the real name is!) and the building through the arch, but nothing above it, however in the location work you can clearly see it above the arch.
The Studio One building was opened in 1990 around the time of Corrie's 30th anniversary (infact I think it was the day of the 30th they officially opened it as I remember a photo in one of the Corrie books). The building was there in 1986, as seen in the current repeats (I think it was there even earlier than this possibly since the 1982 set was built or even earlier?) but I assume it was just empty until 1990. The studio/inside scenes were all recorded in the main Granada building until 1990.
I believe it was officially known as Stage One. I seem to recall there was an indoor bowling competition (and possibly other events) broadcast from that building in the years before it was used for interior Corrie sets.
Maybe they could include one when the titles are next updated... which is well overdue when you consider how many revamps the Bistro exterior has had since the last change.
I think it's due for another name change to Michelle's, or something. So no point updating it just now!

The Virgin Media EPG at the moment shows ITV3 skipping the 26/11/86 edition- going from the 24/11 to the 1/12 episode. I don't know if it's a case of the EPG not being properly updated yet, or if they genuinely are missing it? A look on Corriepedia shows a band appeared as themselves and performed in the Rovers, I don't know if that could be an issue with it being repeated or not? Not sure why it would be, especially as Granada Plus showed that episode, but with issues like the Mike Smith mess on the BBC4 TOTP repeats nothing would suprise me.
I've wondered if Aldi had a PP deal with Emmerdale, a few years ago there was a period where their own brand products were appearing all the time- Bob was even selling their own brand coke in the cafe!
These days it's McCain products which appear prominently all the time.
