Very out of date headlines on the ticker just now: ‘Remembrance services will be held across the UK to honour those who lost their lives in conflict - a two-minute silence will be held at 11 o’clock. • For the first time the Queen will not lay a wreath at the Cenotaph but will watch as Prince Charles attends the ceremony and lays a wreath’.

Appears to have been updated in the past tense now.

At least they weren't laying 'reefs' this time. Laughing

Simon McCoy just handed over to BBC World News for a simulcast because Matthew Amroliwala is interviewing António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General.

So The Sun had this as their headline today:

So has the BBC figured out who took the pictures and what are the odds they’ll be fired?

And this was the BBC’s response:

And Newsnight have just done this as their closer!

It's safe to say that today's The Sun front page has backfired on them big time!

If the Sun is to be believed (hard I know) the photos were taken over a period of four years by a BBC worker who found it annoying that people were sleeping on the job, and then sent them into the Sun.

Small point, but there isn't really a night shift for the News channel anyway, it's more likely he's a World News employee.

Obviously someone who hasn't kept up with the trends in the workplace. 20 minute power naps are encouraged for long shift or overnight workers.

I think the normal time of Newswatch is 19:45, but although there was no breaking news it was delayed until 20:45, my recording was 1 hour 15 minutes.

Some businesses encourage it or make it mandatory. I know when Arianna Huffington still ran the Huffington Post her employees were encouraged to take naps during the day. Some offices had small rooms with a bed or couch or I think some had sleep pods.
