Looks like the news summary was ditched to go back to another reporter live, I didn't catch her name, but she's not got as good a connection as Sophie Raworth had. I assume Sophie has left the scene now.

Could well have been Riz Lateef (main BBC London News presenter) who was also there I believe.

No it wasn't Riz.

It appears BBC Two is showing BBC One's scheduled programmes, with One showing the news

I wonder if that will continue after the One o'Clock news.

Sophie Raworth was at the scene at the start of VD for the BBC, with Tina Daheley and some correspondant called Matthew giving updates in the studio.

I'd describe Sophie as being "slowly moving towards being a presenter of the BBC coverage" this morning. I think she was an eye-witness but started to move towards presentation when she interviewed another eye-witness after 9.30 and is now doing full presentation.

ITV rolling with this via This Morning (Helpful that they have Eamon presenting today). BBC1 stuck on Homes under the Hammer.

This almost expresses - or maybe it does express - a frustration at not being able to see the news. It was on the News Channel and BBC2 and BBC1 did report the story on Breakfast (as well as BBC London News covering it for people seeing that). There may be frustration that they were stuck on Homes under the Hammer; however, they chose to go to the programme despite already knowing about the breaking news. Although they didn't break away during it, the story has now become big enough for them.

Probably Matthew Price. He's well known and very experienced - with a mix of TV and radio presentation experience, including standing in as a presenter on The Today Programme I think. (I first remember him as a Newsround reporter)

Yes, it was Matthew Price who took over from Sophie Raworth anchoring from the scene.

It doesn't look big enough to be terrorist related.

I'm not sure how you jump to that conclusion. It looks larger than the 21/7 failed devices, and similar order of magnitude to the devices that David Copeland (a domestic terrorist) used. "Fairy light" detonators, which may be what was used today, were part of a previous failed terror attack attempt.

It was not Matthew Price on the VD programme. It was definitely someone else (I'm not sure who it was at this stage but the programme is available on the I-player). However, no sooner did I say Sophie is now presenting, Matthew Price has indeed taken over, with a few minutes of Annita McVeigh, for the midday hour.

EDIT: And now back to Sophie, apparently, for the One O'Clock News with Ben Brown.

I recognised him from this video of Newsround the day after 9/11.
