Today's ITV1 announcer seems to be someone different, but where have I heard her before?

The BBC.

I heard her last night (recorded?) going into Soccer Night with "This is Meridian on ITV1..." or something like that. I thought she sounded so familiar to that BBC anouncer! Laughing

Channel four appear to have a new voice on daytime today too. No idea who he is though.

I thought I recognised her voice too.

That must be Chris Langmore's replacement.

I noticed her voice from the BBC too. She introduced the news summary at 3pm.

A few annoucements later I realised it was her off the BBC. Mentioning 'Meridian' last night on the regional announcement is a good sign, up to now those announcers that don't have an history within ITV tend not to mention the regional names

Yes - i first heard her last night - "This is Granada on ITV1" - very nice.

I have to say, her voice is a little low over the top of the ITV Music. On BBC ONE she is loud and clear over dancing man, women and children, but over Vera Duckworth etc I could hardly hear her.

I would imagine that's because on BBC ONE, she could dip the ident herself and do the job professionally. Whereas on ITV1, her announcement would have been pre-recorded and more than likely played out at completely the wrong level.

To be fair, I have heard Scottish Paul and Sonia mention the regional names quite a bit. Infact if I had to hear Paul mention "ITV1 Carlton for Central England" one more time......

The new girl sounds very nice. Never really noticed her when she was on BBC ONE.

Infact, they are all sounding better.... I just think Scottish Paul has been working too much recently. He must be exhausted.
