I imagine Kay will go to Sunrise till 10am. Hand over to Adam then and possibly Anna Botting 11-2pm. Then possibly Jayne Secker and/or Colin Brazier 2pm-5pm. Then we have Dermot 7pm-9pm. So that leaves 5-7 and 9-12 to be filled. Not sure of who will take them two major roles as of yet.

Nope

In that case its hard to know where Sky will plug their gaps. Short term their ok as Eamonn Holmes isn't leaving till mid-October and Jeremy the end of the year but I can't see them being able to replace the regular line-up with familiar, experienced presenters. This shows the demise of the once innovative, ambitious 24 hours news channel that you work for. What has been the feeling about the loss of so many great presenters among staff?

Your last question is not a subject about which I would betray the confidence of friends and colleagues in order to share,, but I can assure you that (while, by definition, any given line-up isn't going to please 100% of viewers) your aforementioned concerns will largely - if not totally - be dissipated when the new line-up is unveiled very soon.

Thank you for the reassurance but with the departure of Jeremy, a lifelong inspiration to me (along with Allan King) I think any lineup without him will be a major disappointment for me but alas, his day has come and he leaves a lasting legacy.

Genuinely looking forward to whats to come, particularly Boulton's new show at a perfect time of the day for him and thanks for building the anticipation!

I expect JT will be off to the US for the election around the same time Eamonn leaves.

I think, whilst Jeremy is a prominent face at Sky News, its probably a good time for him to retire. He is without doubt a fantastic journalist, and I wish him all the best for the future. I look forward to his coverage during the US Election - he is always brilliant with that.

In terms of who will replace him, I think it'll probably be Niall Paterson but I was really impressed with Robert Nisbet when he presented that same shift a few weeks ago. He has great knowledge of Europe and the US, and if he'd be interested in presenting a flagship bulletin, I think he would be great. It'd be nice to see 'Live at Five' as a name return too - I mean, we have 'Sunrise'!

Interested to see the other changes to the schedule over the coming weeks, too. Sarah-Jane really suits Sunrise and I like Jonathan Samuels. I wonder where Isobel Webster will go, however? Lets not get into fantasy schedules, though...

As you'll see at the bottom of that press release, Isabel is to be paired up with Stephen Fri-Sun. I won't comment yet on what's happening to Gillian, but that will be revealed in due course.

And from the new studio too!

Quote:
Sarah-Jane and team will be presenting from a new glass studio in Sky’s recently opened contemporary workspace, Sky Central, from late October bringing a new look and feel to the programme.

Has Jeremy actually retired though? He stated that he was taking a gap year and was retiring from Sky News, not stating he was retiring altogether.

I can't speak for him inasmuch as that particular phrase may or may not have been figurative - but I can confirm he is leaving Sky shortly after anchoring the U.S. elections from New York.

The first thing that springs to mind is more cost-cutting. SJM may be a 'Sky' name, but doesn't have the broad appeal that Eamonn Holmes had on the programme.

It may explain why she left Sky Sports, where her talents were better utilised to present cover shifts on Sky News.

On the other hand, Dan Walker has made the successful transition from sports presenter to mainstream news presenter over on Breakfast.

Delighted with the Sunrise lineup. I said a few weeks ago on here that I thought Jonathan had really excelled in the presentation role so his promotion is well deserved.

I'm not sure how Stephen Dixon will take the news that he is to be seperated from Gillian!

The desk looks like it's wonky in that publicity shot! Presumably just because the photo's taken at an angle.

I guess that, given they've mentioned it's a glass studio, the atrium will feature in some form and they won't just be using the screen as the background.
