I've just heard on the News Channel that it's been put under review. I think this was to be expected but a sad time for BBC News.

That must have made interesting viewing. The channel reporting on itself.
Did Mr McCoy make any quips?

It was part of David Stilito's package about the closure and merger of BBC Online Services.

As far as I can tell reading BBC Online, the channel isn't going to close but could be merged with World News.

In case you missed it, there's a topic discussing this: http://www.tvforum.co.uk/thenewsroom/bbc-news-channel-world-news-merge-41730/

Are World & NC doing a joint breaking news coverage right now? We have Matthew and Yalda anchoring last few hours on World.

No, the NC is covering a tribute to Sir Nicholas Winton, the British Schindler.

World has had a revised schedule in place following the Egypt Air news. GMT with Lucy Hockings went out as normal 1200-1330 (though dominated of course by news from Egypt) but the rest of the afternoon was done in News Style, replacing Impact and Global. Some elements were jointly done with the channel (11am I think) but mainly it was separate.

Love everything about Maxine. She's professional, has authority but also has a warmth to her that not many others do. Her and Simon McCoy are brilliant together when she does the odd weekday afternoon.

Martine Croaxall gives a bit of insight on-air into what goes on behind the scenes. Last time she was telling us about a shift change on the weather and has done this week as well.

Hah. Newsreader just said, during a bit about Tunisia trying to build up tourism after all their terrorism troubles, that Tunisia is doing its best to tackle tourism.
