Last night no simulcasted national BBC News bulletin on the News Channel because of Eurovision overrunning. Has this happened before?

Not since the simulcasts began in 2008, I don't believe it has.

Not because of Eurovision this one but i think this happened on New Years Eve last year because both the Late BBC1 Bulletin and the World Simulcast were at the same time and the NC stick with the 9pm World News simulcast.

The NC has opted out of the BBC News at 6 to take the Leicester City celebrations.

And Tonight's Edition of East Midlands Today is also going out on the NC.

Was EMT upscaled on the NC?

Well Monday 30th would be a bank holiday so there would be no edition of Newsnight - but I think you're talking about the 23rd?

Yes i am referring to the 23rd but yes this means at least 2 Mondays without the Newsnight repeat.

There appears to be a second edition of The Papers tonight as well as Ben Brown just said they'll be back at 11.30. Newsnight also 65 minutes tonight, possibly the reason why.

Intresting! and it proves right the point made on the previous page that this makes a mockery of the entire point of the Newsnight repeat in the first place-I now think the Newsnight repeats will be gone sooner rather than later.

Are you still make predictions? I thought you'd learn your lesson after the numerous " Victoria Derbyshire will be axed in a few months/ by Christmas" predictions.
Wishful thinking once again

I've just heard on the News Channel that it's been put under review. I think this was to be expected but a sad time for BBC News.

That must have made interesting viewing. The channel reporting on itself.

Did Mr McCoy make any quips?

Mr McCoy wasn't on (unfortunately). It was Mr Brown.

It was part of David Stilito's package about the closure and merger of BBC Online Services.

As far as I can tell reading BBC Online, the channel isn't going to close but could be merged with World News.
