Must have been why her 07:15hrs Radio 2 bulletin was via a mobile phone (and even that was breaking up towards the end)

Odd, it's not as if Richmond Park is in the middle of nowhere

Actually, I was there a few weeks ago, and my normally excellent EE mobile reception that's just about 3 or 4G where ever I seem to go now, was crappy old, low signal GPRS there.
Mrs MarkyMark's Three phone fared even worse, (because of course Three no longer use O2's 2G back up)

Issues with the live OB at Richmond Park for Carol's 8:20 forecast. Camera suffering picture issues making it look like a poor Skype connection.

She didn't make her first broadcast until 07:20, because of technical difficulties. The 06:15 and 06:45 weather forecasts were performed by Philip Hammond from NBH.

The 06:15 forecast was a recorded one by Phil Avery (unless something huge has changed, I believe Philip Hammond is the Foreign Secretary and not a broadcast meteorologist Very Happy ).

It's the first stage of Whittingdale's plan, replace the BBC's on screen presenters with members of the cabinet

Though if I had to say which member of the cabinet looked most like a weatherman it'd probably be him.

The later forecast in the 08:00 hour was a pre-rec as well. But it was a pre-rec of Carol's, complete with the pixelating issues.

LOL. I knew it was Philip somebody . . . who flashed up on the screen. Laughing

Blimey, that sort of thing hasn't been seen on a TV weather forecast since the day that a streaker invaded the Albert Dock floating map on "This Morning" back in the 1990s... Wink Laughing

You're not letting me live down my faux-pas, are you?

I'm not normally at my most attentive at 6am, you know. Razz

This morning's 6am titles started visually at quite a late point in the sequence, meaning that we stayed on the finished logo for ages whilst the remainder of the theme tune played.

There top story today was about the major changes to how the BBC is run.

Perhaps part of the changes are to no longer employ anyone who has the ability to correctly sync playout of audio & video? Wink
