How long has the lower level of TVC Been a cafe area just past main reception? When i did the tour there a few years back i'm sure it was where the newsroom was based.

I think you mean BH, not TVC?

The News Café is on the same level as the newsroom but not visible from reception or seen on screen. The Media Café, open to the public, is on the ground floor and is where audiences and tours are held before shows/tour slot. There's also an unbranded Caffe Nero in old BH, opposite The One Show studio, again open to the public.

Not sure if this is best here or on the YouTube thread over on 'Websites'. It's the loop that BH's Master Control Room put out in between feeds:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmhAstAFwMc
(someone on DS captured it from some online stream and has blurred out the phone numbers for obvious reasons)

I've seen the unedited version and not much missing out.

Now is this just a simple video as a barker channel or internal?

Its internal, just routed to circuits between bookings.

The marketing suite and show flats (quite a large structure in front of the Studio 1 stage doors which apparently will eventually be a restaurant) seemed to already be open yesterday when I walked past but perhaps not, according to that article it's Saturday. Looks like a bit of the public space on the right hand side of the forecourt will be ready to open up very soon too.

I wondered what that structure was. I was guessing (incorrectly) some sort of reception for audiences to replace the old cafe area that they used to wait in...will they be out in the cold again?

London property prices are quite ridiculous. £650,000 for a one bed flat, and that's what they start at.

Actually, the video says they start at a mere £550K. I'll bid for two! Very Happy Very Happy

And sadly that is why so many studios are being closed and sold off for housing.

Could he mean Stage 6 which has reopened for use by BBC Worldwide? Is there a cafe in there?

Yes there is, and the description fits. Having been lucky enough to visit Worldwide at Stage 6 last year, there's a cafe situated at the bottom of the spiral staircase, beyond reception. I recall there was a Dalek sitting in there too, which - speculation - may be the one which used to be at the BBC Shop at TVC...

Are they taking the East tower down , or referbishing, reglazing, and recladding it? The position of that new tower block, appears to be situated in the footprint of the current eyesore?
