The X Factor 2014:

Starts 30th August then. Read today that they are showing the room auditions in one block this year before then going to the arenas. Better than the daft set up last year where you had the room on Saturday & the arena on Sunday.

I don't know, i quite liked it. It made Dermot's 'your x factor weekend starts right here' make more sense! Where did you read about the room?

Radio Times:

"Unlike last year, shows won’t swap between in-room auditions on Saturday night and arena auditions on Sunday. Rather, we’ll see all the in-room auditions in a row before switching to the arena. "

Think that makes much more sense - gives the gradual progression. The way they did it last year you didn't really need to watch both the Saturday and Sunday shows.

I would rather just one show each weekend. I find the X Factor takes up far too much time. Compress it into 1 hour/1.5 per week and you might find the number of viewers increase gradually. Especially if advertising decreases- which doesn't necessarily mean revenue would decrease of course!!

Not going to happen when even a poor performing X Factor would get double of anything else ITV could show in either slot.

Unlikely, it's only being shown on a minor US channel.
