I liked The Weakest Link but it was a show of its time and I'm not sure if the mean spirited aspect would work today.

I remember it like Millionaire started very strongly in the US, though unlike Millionaire it crashed and burned very quickly.

Enjoying this, they've done their homework!

That was partly due to NBC making more and more 'celebrity' versions which put the ratings through the floor. The syndicated version of Weakest Link with George Gray was abysmal.

It should’ve been on FOX or ABC

I’ll be honest, people are praising Michael Sheens performance as Chris Tarrant, but it’s mostly a miss for me. I don’t think he’s got the voice or mannerisms right at all. It’s a very pantomime version of Chris Tarrant than a realistic portrayal.

I sometimes wonder whether thats a deliberate decision on behalf of the production, perhaps to emphasis the fact its a drama.

So, has the original set been kept in storage for all these years, or did they contact the original team who made it?

It was remade from the blueprints. What surprised me is they pretty much had the set from the pilot - you wouldn't think that at that stage they'd have the budget, even if the design was a very important aspect of the show.

I was thinking the same. He is quite good at doing the quiz part but seems very panto in the intro and fastest finger parts.

Can't help but think they'd have got away with it if they'd stuck to £32k.

I believe that the producers had said previously that if Charles had stopped at 500K or below, they wouldn’t have questioned it and he would have got away with it. It was only the fact that he went for and got the million that really got everyone suspicious.

I remember on the documentry they showed back in 2003 they said they'd already stopped recording at some point earlier in the show so they could watch the tapes because they had suspicions. In this show they showed that happening during the break after he answered the million pound question, but in reality it was earlier, so they were already suspicious well before the million pound question.

That looks very like a 2010s Pot Noodle that guy in the gallery is eating!
No reason for that kind of blooper. Back in Time at the Corner Shop managed to get retro packaging. Why couldn't Quiz?

Actually its just occurred to me: The ITV logo on the back wall in the boardroom when they're having the debate/argument over whether to cancel the cheque or not and they flip over to see coverage of 9/11: By that time they were ITV1 and had been for the best part of a month by the time of 9/11.

Mind you that being said if it was only seen by the people behind the scenes at ITV it's not a complete anachronism..

It was very funny and on the nose with the quip about Celebrity Crime Squad being something ITV would make,
