That was a hellish question. People see it all the time, but it doesn’t exactly stay in the mind.

True, but what really hurts there is that the lifelines let the guy down. Had 50/50 eliminated green, or Phone a Friend correctly said blue, he likely wouldn't have lost.

Well if the lifelines gave you the right answer the right answer it might as well be a skip the question lifeline.

That's why Double Dip should have been brought over here from the US. At least once you've done 50/50 and you've got Double Dip left, you're guaranteed to get the question right.

The lifelines aren't there to guarantee you the answer. There still remains an element of jeopardy with their use.

Indeed, as we saw last night.

But you can use them to your advantage to almost do that in effect.

Not when he thought it was red and his phone a friend said green. (Presumably you couldn't use Double Dip after 50/50).

Still waiting for the Amazon sponsorship deal when Ask Alexa becomes a lifeline.

I don't see any reason as to why you couldn't use 50/50 then Double Dip, it's still a lifeline that's available to use.

Does anyone have the ratings for the first episode last night? Did it do well?

Well in the US it replaced the 50/50 lifeline, probably to stop that scenario.

What would be the point of 50/50 then double dip? The double dip would not reduce the odds at the point and force you to answer the question.

But that way you're guaranteed to get the answer right even if your first choice was incorrect. That's the point of Double Dip as you get to answer again.

Yes sorry I was being stupid.

It would be pretty rubbish if they had 50:50 and Double Dip on the £1 Million question.

I do think it’s a better lifeline than 50:50.
