It may be worth making a comparison between UTV's schedule of regional programme slots versus that of ITV Wales from next weekend. From a centralised playout perspective, it makes more sense to keep two national regions in sync in that respect (less complexity and therefore, presumably, less cost to ITV). Conjecture on my part but I suspect we will see the schedules of these two ITV "regions" become more closely aligned in the coming months.
ITV Wales has a regional slot at 8pm on Mondays. There's another regional offering from ITV Wales on Monday evenings at 10.45pm - which I suspect is where UTV will put it's weekly political analysis programme (or will it just be an extended edition of UTV Live)?
I throught that someone on here said it would be then. Just noticed however that it is indeed an extended UTV Live on Monday evening (50 mins) but not branded UTV Live Tonight. Tuesday it is down to the same length as other regions.
For comparison on Monday 3rd October
ITV London:
10:30 ITV News London
10:45 The Agenda
11:20 The Jonathan Ross Show
12:25 Newzoids
12:50 Jackpot 247
3:00 The Jeremy Kyle Show
3:55 ITV Nightscreen
ITV Wales:
10:30 ITV News Cymru Wales
10:45 Sharp End
11:15 The Agenda
11:50 The Jonathan Ross Show
12:50 Jackpot 247
3:00 The Jeremy Kyle Show
3:55 ITV Nightscreen
UTV:
10:30 UTV Live
11:20 Celebrity Home Secrets
11:50 The Jonathan Ross Show
12:50 Newzoids
1:10 Teleshopping
2:40 ITV Nightscreen
3:00 The Jeremy Kyle Show
3:55 ITV Nightscreen
So don't know whether UTV will get more like ITV Wales in time. Also I have a feeling that UTV can't show Jackpot247, so maybe shared overnights with iTV Channel Television? Channel has the same schedule as London apart from ITV Nightscreen replacing Jackpot247.
Interesting to see that the same evening at 8pm they are opting out of the network for "EY Entrepreneur of the Year". UTV Ireland are also taking this programme. It's running for several weeks, starting the previous week. I wonder will there be and branding issues when the two UTVs have different logos.
