Will the new UTV News set be similar to the design of the ITV local news sets across the UK, e.g. a desk on a platform with a view of the city behind them?
Well judging from the new idents and the logo they want consistency so you could safely assume that will be the case.

The shape of the itvNEWS logo is fairly crucial to the form up of the titles and I'm not sure a UTV News logo would fit as comfortably without some changes to how it forms up. Will be interesting to see.

They did say they wanted to bring UTV News closer in style to the current ITV National and Local News look, so I presume there will be the standard look used from Monday.

I'd imagine it'll just be the same as the other itv news titles but slightly altered for the UTV logo just the same way they have done it for the idents.
They are going to spend as little as possible so I don't imagine anything special just for U(tv)

perhaps this could be the turning point in the generalisation of ITV and if London execs see the benefit of retaining the local brand that they would do the same should they buy STV in the future and perhaps even restore HTV too.
Such things will happen just after Lord Lucan becomes the new anchor of News at Ten.

Seriously though, I think it's possible that they are using UTV as a prototype for when they eventually buy STV. A fully unified ITV could result in ITV in England & Wales, STV in Scotland and UTV in NI.
