I just thought the programmes were produced by the ITV Sport team (event tv etc.) and the commentry came from ITV Sport, with the main programmes added depending on the region. Does any other region use a 'LIVE' caption, meridian put it's face on the match doggy style.

itv stations mostly use their own teams (many faces also seen on the sports section of the local news)

the central sports team includes many faces also seen on itv sport (gary newbon, jim rosenthal, ron atkinson, andy townsend) and faces from central news east and west sport - like mark bolton, carrie fraise (sp?)

you also hear local sports presenters from around the country on the goal rush (itv1/itv2/itvsport ch)- reporting at grounds.

btw. phil mepham (central news west) is now a spokesman for aston villa - i thought he hadn't been on for a while - a bit like the way david davis (midlands today) is now a spokesman at the english fa.

This afternoon, YTV and Anglia are both showing Norwich v Sheffield United, There are separate programmes on each channel, but Anglia are using Yorkshire's commentary

Mmmmm interesting that, John Helm is Yorkshires commentator, but never heard Alan Brazil doing co-commentary before, does he have links with Anglia TV ? Alan was very good.

Usually you seem to get a very Yorkshire team biased commentary from John Helm, obviously impartiallity was important this time however.

I actually tuned in to Anglia during the second half, and there wasn't any sound at all for a time, which was either a fault on DSat or at Anglia TV
