It all looks fairly nice, and it does look bigger than the last set.

God that set is awful, and what is with the background?

Oooh, it's all very pretty. I quite like it actually. Better than East Midlands Today, anyway!

Yep much better then North West Tonights's set that needs doing again!

Looks good, but I think the latest incarnation of BBC News sets (i.e., Londons and this one) have a far weaker 'look' than the previous lot... they look sort of disjointed, with random design elements added just to make it look fresh, but ones which are not part of the corporate look (if there is such a thing anymore) and ones that aren't used anywhere else...

My impression (just from the caps) is that it looks like a hybrid between News 24 and the National set.

But when is Gill Sans (to which I have developed an increasing - and probably irrational - dislike) going to leave BBC1's screens in news programmes?

[quote="DAS"]As much as it looks quite good, do SET think they've gone national or something?! Maybe it's just me - but aren't regional programmes meant to be cosy and local? I'm not too keen on this new style of mini national news teams.

I totally agree with you, DAS. The set looks great, far better than before, but there has always been something missing on SouthEast Today - that cosiness that makes you want to watch.
They may have a fab new set but they are still not a patch on Meridian Tonight. Geoff Clarke is the master at banter and corny jokes (without being as corny as Nick Owen on Midlands Today).
There is none of that on S.E.T. Giles Dilnott frankly has a good face for radio.

John Young is my favourite presenter.

I still don't like the way the titles don't fit to the upbeat theme.

Yes, as I mentioned earlier, they haven't fitted the music to the pictures, that's why it looks so wrong.

The studio is a vast improvement though.

Why, Did NW Today get a new look recently?

No, he just means that the NWT set looks quite dated. It had a slight change when the titles were updated across the regions, so that the blue carpet and yellow walls were changed to red. Other than that (and the larger screen where the sport (and occasionally main items) are presented), it's pretty much the same set since the regions went corporate.

Thanks Asa.

Not too keen on this new look. The background is far too blurred.
