With Simon McCoy defecting to BBC News, wonder who will replace him on Sunrise, and will Sky get their finger out and make Sunrise more unique instead of just a morning version of Sky News on the Hour.

I think Steve Dixon is prime candidate, or will they find someone from outside Sky News?

CPFC: AFAIK, I didn't call any sort of truce because I didn't start any sort of war. If you're under the impression that I am devoting most of my time to arguing with you, really, it's misplaced. I think you're an idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about, yes, but I have many, many more things to be doing with my time than arguing with you.

On to more interesting issues...

Can see that news going down at Sky like a lead balloon. The fact that he has been there since its launch, only to jump ship to give the main rival a leg up is probably not the nicest Christmas present. Have to say, though, Sky have really brought much of it on themselves. It has been said on here for the past two years how utterly dreadful Sunrise looks, feels, just works in general.

McCoy was at his best with Vivien Creegor on the afternoon shift (prior to all of the changes made in 2001). Kaplinsky - as has been said - got where she is/was through one main reason... don't think I need to point out what that might be. Emma Crosby is dire, totally unwatchable and just genuinely boring; it also didn't help that McCoy looked bored to tears, and about as visually interesting as a turnip. Why on earth would viewers give a sh-t if the presenters don't?

As to who might replace him, God knows. Sky are running out of people. My bet would be for Chris Roberts, but then that messes up the evening shift. That is, of course, unless Sky try and nick a Beeb person (Chris Eakin, anyone?!)

Yeah, well fair enough. Not quite sure why you have to resort to personal insults to somebody you don't know (that's why I'm under an "impression")

Which presumably does not go any way towards explaining why you called someone a "fool" just a few posts ago, does it?

Just stop pestering me, please. I'm genuinely not interested in your commentary on my posts. It's getting a little tedious.

Wouldn't have thought so - as far as I know the News 24 jobs advertised a few months ago haven't been offered to anyone yet.

You're obviously lovin this - "fool" does not compare to "ignorant twit" and "idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about."

You're not important enough for me to be pestering you - don't flatter yourself. I tried to end this amicably but you sure love those text arguments.

It sounds pitifully simple, but I could 'see him' on Sky. In my humble opinion, Chris Eakin and Peter Dobbie are the most under valued and under used presenters on N24 (relating their exposure to their talent). And didn't Chris Eakin previously do N24 breakfast? (Not that that's particularly important, or interesting.)

I do think that Peter Dobie should replace Matthew at 4pm. I'd preferably watch News 24 for my 'news-catch-up' after school but I have to watch Sky to save dozing off.
