I think this "re-launch" was a hoax.

A proper business would have made sure that the web based issues and problems were sorted out before giving a launch date.

No other news or updates have been announced since this failed re-launch.

I don't see why assets would have been purchased, limited companies registered etc. for a 'hoax'...

I actually wouldn't be at all surprised if someone from here or metropol brought the rights cheap with exactly that purpose.

I would't say it's a hoax, more like a player trying to make money out of something that had a cult following nearly a decade ago. Also if it was a hoax to wind people up, you wouldn't pretend to just be launching a website - you'd make out you were relaunching on TV.

Indeed. Unless someone has paid him to pretend to be involved, it's clearly 100% legitimate.
