Hmm...
The Whois says that bid.tv has been registered since October 2014 and it lapsed, IIRC, about six months after the original service closed. The Price-drop.tv address was originally registered in 2003 and didn't expire but has been renewed.

Sit-up TV, the original owner of Bid and Price-Drop, is listed as dissolved, however spotted on Wiki (salt, pinch, take):

Wiki posted:
On 18 February 2015, Grant Miller, through the company Bid Shopping Limited, acquired the intellectual property, patents, brands and domains of Sit-Up, which resulted in Sit-Up emerging from administration. The company is now working on re-launching the channel via online and selected TV broadcasting in the near future.

Grant Miller appears to be the owner of the Daily Sport. He bought it after that went into administration and relaunched it.

Grant Miller's LinkedIn profile seems to confirm the same. Quite in what way it will relaunch (if it will at all) remains to be seen.

At least it's Bid TV and not the awful Shop at Bid incarnation they used before Sit-Up sunk.

Bringing back that format wouldn't be very clever at all - a format that basically put the final nail in the coffin of the original company.

Wouldn't bid tv be 15 years old on the 6th October? Maybe they're planning something towards that date?

I wonder why. Pricedropper.co.uk wasn't exactly successful.

Perhaps it's simply down to that URL being included within the package.

I can't see this relaunch being successful in any form. It seems like the purchaser of this I.P. has no experience in the home shopping arena.

Ashley Faull and Co. (original bid-up.tv team circa 1999/2000) purchased the old Acton studios at a knock-down price; if there was anything to be made with the I.P. of bid shopping, I'm pretty sure he would have snatched it up at the same time. Smart man (though arguably debatable after the WCL travesty).

I just can't see anything coming from the 'all new bid'; the reputation it had prior alone will make sure of that.

They indicate their TV relaunch will be limited; I wonder if that means an hour slot on The Mall? Oh my...

Was that former Bid TV host Chris Birkett on Tipping Point just now?

He just won £10,000 and wanted to take the family to spain.
