Strange that, with the athletics and swimming overlapping tonight, BBC4 didn't stay up and running beyond 2am.
BBC1 has the swimming at the moment, but athletics coverage with full studio presentation is continuing on the Red Button.
The half empty athletics stadium looks really, really bad on TV. It's so empty that there aren't even any camera angles that could hide it.
As DVB Cornwall has mentioned in the Paralympics thread, goodness knows how empty it'll be for those Games.
Really disappointing.

Do they do pool interviews then to be distributed to other broadcadter?
Well apart from what was being billed as one of the most significant moments in British Olympic history nothing at all.
Looks like the Ten is being cut down to 20 mins every night then, as there wasn't an event to rush back for tonight, yet still did so. Surprised this never made the listings though as it means BBC2 is running 15 minutes early every night.

Which didn't occur until much later than the usual 10:35 Friday finish time, they covered other bits and pieces before the Team Pursuit.

It was originally scheduled at 10.37 though. The BBC made absolutely the right call.

Very awkward moment on the rowing coverage as John Inverdale cuts in to jump ahead and start interviewing NZ mens single sculls winner as he walks past. Steve Redgrave calls it to a halt after one answer, in order to let the gold medallist move down and speak to NZ TV first.
Very obvious tension between the pair, largely due to Inverdale's terrible chat and actions I would say.

I honestly think this allegation of tension between Inverdale and Redgrave is media-fabricated nonsense. Any excuse to throw a jab at Inverdale since the Bartoli incident.
The way I saw today's incident was that as Drysdale was walking past, it was in fact Redgrave who stopped him, allowed Inverdale to ask a question, but then realised that he was needed by the NZ TV crew so asked Inverdale to let him go.
But of course some newspapers decided that something completely different happened.
Just the same way that they suggested that Redgrave was fed up with Inverdale and 'rolled his eyes and stormed off'.
And last night, apparently Jill Douglas got annoyed when Redgrave barged his way into her interview with Bradley Wiggins. Apparently Douglas said 'let me do this'. In actual fact, she said 'I think we need a . . .' presumably wanting to continue with 'a photo of the three of you' which - in fact - they got after the interview.
Inverdale and Redgrave have always had that kind of relationship. They bounce off each other. And they play it up because they know exactly how the media will spin it. But to be fair, as the media reported, the situation between the two did become very serious - almost violent - in this incident:
As a result of this, Inverdale is being banished to synchronised swimming in Tokyo. With other journalists who have too much time on their hands.
EDIT - incidentally, just google 'Steve Redgrave BBC' to see the media articles.

It's the first thing I saw when I switched on today, so didn't appreciate any history over the last few days. It still made for uncomfortable viewing.
