Now, I know ITV are getting desperate for formats, but has it really come down to "Lobe on a Saturday Night". A show all about ears ? Shocked

Surely "boyfriend" (ed.)

Surely that's a libellous, untrue comment . . .

Just wondering about this...;.On tonight's Love On A Saturday Night, Davina said this show was the last in the series and said it would be back in april. Now i assumed that cause she said Ant and Dec were back next week with Saturday Night Takeaway, that both shows are recorded in the same studio. Does anyone know if this is true? Also if they are in the same studio and Daviba returns in April then surely thats a short run fro ant and dec!!???

Maybe they are having shorter runs of both series, perhaps Love on a Saturday Night wont be back until late April so Saturday Night Takeaway will have a 6 week run?

Must have been a delay after last weeks "f..." incident on the J Wilkes bit, as this week the feed went for a few seconds, replace with the Love on a Saturday Night logo.

Not a spectacular show, but far better than Blind Date. A few tweaks here and there could make it alot better - for example, the Masked Date cliffhangers at every ad break are too much. The first rejection should be revealed after the first ad break, with the winner revealed after the last.

I actually thought the show was pretty dire and unentertaining after watching for about three weeks. Davina doesn't handle it very well either IMO.

Also the other week they showed the choosing woman a picture of Mr Green completely naked, and whilst the audience was clapping she said something like "It's really small" after which Davina said "Yes... I hope you didn't hear that at home".

Does anybody know what the woman said?

Well this series ended tonight, what did everyone think of it? Personally I thought it was better than Blind Date as the format on that was rather tired by the end, I also think Davina is a good presenter on this show.

I was suprised the series ended so soon to be honest but it looks like its to make room for Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway next week, but Davina said it would be back in April.

I like what ITV1 are doing with both shows, Having Love on a Saturday night on for 5 weeks, Then Sat Night Takeaway for about 6 weeks I guess, Then Love on Sat night again for 5 or 6 weeks, then Maybe 5 more Sat night Takeaways again.
If this is what’s going to happen then I think its a good idea. When Blind Date was on for 16 or so weeks (well it felt like that) the audience must have got very bored of seeing the same old cr*p on week after week. By alternating shows every 6 weeks or so the schedule is not a dull and lifeless as it would be if its the same thing for 4 months!

As for Love on a Saturday Night, I think this 5 week run was to see if the show was any good or not (if it flopped then last night it probably would have ended for good with something new on ITV in April instead).
I do prefer this show than old and past it Blind Date. Davina is watchable and does not make you fall asleep like boring old Cilla. The only thing I hate about Love on A Saturday Night is the bloody theme music. After the show for a few hours on a Saturday night the bloody theme tune is stuck in my head. The theme music is not bad, but the opening titles with Davina in a pop video style are very bad! Who does she think she is?? Geri Halliwell!

I agree with that too. The titles are too long and boring, and I don't like the theme music at all.

Im not keen on the titles or music either, otherwise I like the format for the show, its much more interesting than blind date, which even with its date/ditch thing in the last series it was getting boring.

Yes 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off is a good thing, I get sick of Ant and Dec on for weeks on end so its nice having Davina on too.

I've liked watching it over the past few weeks, and will again when it returns.
It is more entertaining than blind date, as it's simply an entertainment show based around creating (possible) love on a saturday night.

Where as Blind date was a game, with rules; 3 guys, 1 girl picks, show last weeks contestants, interview them, 3 girls, 1 guy picks, show other set of last week contestants, interview them.

With love on a saturday night, they can change things, drop ideas, create new ones, all under the same name; quite clever off them really!

It's a good idea having them sharing the slot, and that both are live! It now gives a chance for the LOASN producers to go away and think of new ideas for when it returns, and look at any problems and rubbish ideas from this series and make the show better in every way they can.

Having the A&DSNT come on and then take a break will give Ant & Dec the time to go over to the US if they still plan to.

Both are really watchable me, as they are pure entertainment, as TV should be, especially Saturday Nights, it's a shame that they both can't air at the same time.

And I disagree about the titles and theme tune. The theme tune is very catchy as it should be to get into peoples heads and make them think of the show half way through the week and catch it again.

Why shouldn't they use Davina in the titles? She is the host! They may be a little cheezy, but so what? That's what TV should be, cheezy, funny and entertaining!

Quite cheap of itv really, hire 1 studio and split the series to air two different shows. I believe that it's Studio 1 of the London Studios, but not too sure.
