How is showing (previously recorded) entertainment programmes rather than an increased amount of (live) news to people who are self-isolating going to 'spread the virus'?

We're talking about This Morning

If we take that attitude then we'd have to scrap every live programme and that includes the news.

Well yeah, just leaving the news and only the news. If it comes to it I don't think 'This Morning' is going to be seen as essential PSB.

It's been doing some good PSB this morning, as it has done in the past. It reaches people that news programmes don't always reach and in an accessible way.

Victoria Derbyshire does the PSB for those who aren't reflected in mainstream bulletins, but it's TM who continually provide it in a much more accessible if tabloid manner.

I'm surprised that the soaps haven't mentioned coronavirus (I know holby city has). They have in the past inserted other important subjects at the last minute in the past

When it's a one-off finished situation like a sports or election results, celebrity death, etc, that won't have an impact on stories, it's easy, but with a developing situation that's likely to go on for months it's probably safer to avoid mentioning it at all, otherwise you're just drawing attention to the fact that you're not including it in storylines.

That said, it would be a perfect explanation for the current fad of block storytelling that sees half the cast disappearing for weeks on end.

That one solitary woo made it feel ten times worse than it should've been.

I don't know if it's already been mentioned but here's Jimmy Fallon delivering his opening monologue sans audience. I have to echo a lot of the comments in that the show actually seems to benefit from being more laid back.

I'm confused.. they should just stop producing them, for the time being, it won't be the end of the world

introducing these "pieces of advice" , when the actors continue to meet, touch each other and do their regular things, will just put under risk these actors (and not just them)

Well I'm guessing they won't be touching each other and doing their "regular things" whatever they are. Precautions will be taken as with any work place.
