Children In Need is ageist! Time to replace it with something helping everyone in need.

That is the biggest load of crap i have heard, if you don't like it clear off and don't watch. Nobody is making people give money to CIN it's up to themselfs from their heart and i tell ya now alot of people who are on benifts give more then these people who are working, if you don't agree with what they do don't bother to give any money then next time.

So what are everyone's opinions of CiN so far this year on BBC1?

In my opinion it's been quite dreadful, that Blankety Blank sketch had to be the worst with everyone involved going for the laughs and nobody getting them.

Getting the guests to read the number out over and over again gets a bit annoying as well

I've missed most of the evning's events, but I am enjoying The Osbournes skit. Though I knew it would happen at the beginning of the sketch that Jon Culshaw and Jan Raven as Sharon and Ozzy would meet the real Sharon and Ozzy.

Just for completeness, Lawless with Trevor Eve was excellent, as was the comfort of the chair and the bottle of red.

As for Wogan in Need, haven't a clue.

I know this particular forum page(s) are for BBC Children in Need logo, but does anyone know off-hand who is vision mixing for 'BBC Children in Need'?

If someone is up when it finishes at 2.00am, then could someone please be so kind in taking a capture of the ending titles with the vision mixer's name on? If you could, then I will be very grateful. I unfortunately do not have a capture card.

Thank you. Smile

They never have titles for Children In Need, but quite a high chance it will have been Hilary Briegel I would have thought?

I'm currently watching Red Dwarf V on dvd. I don't watch mainly for the Newsreaders sketch they do every year.

It's a good cause but surely there is a better way to do it

I think a key reason why Children in Need is not so appealing now it the way television has changed over the last five years or so - especially it's attitude to celebrity.

Now we see loads of Celebrity specials. Celebs do things far nastier on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, sing numerous times a year on shows like Stars in their Eyes and appear regularly on quizes such as Millionaire and Weakest Link.

The "Special" has effectively been taken out of Celebrity Special!

Another reason IMO is there is very little fundraising on the show now. Celebs perform and we are asked to reward Children in Need. There has been no incentive tonight to hit £x m to see something happen - and very little "fundraising" style things on the show.

However, having said all that it should be noticed that the real reason the shows are now alot poorer is so people will spend more time on the phone - Children in Need is pulling in the pounds more than ever.

What a great show so far! Loved the Corrie abnd Ozbournes bit! Keep it up Pudsey and co. Hope they top last year's total which was £15m on the night!
