Indeed, Channel have been fed ITV via NTL fibre since the inception of ITV on D-SAT in 2002, which was managed as a national project. There were 2 way links between NTL Feltam and the ITV regions' play-out. As an anomaly, Channel's link went to Fremont Point rather than CTV, so the signal tromboned via a Jersey Telecom link between the tx site and CTV facilities. Presumably CTV could have been sent any ITV sustaining feed, but as per their programme agreement were actually sent Meridian South D-SAT tx
The SABRE arrangement for ITV, ie RBL Rowridge via Alderney and an EDF site at Cherbourg was apparently de-commissioned very rapidly.
AIUI Channel have a fibre from London to Jersey to provide their network feed, rather than relying on an off-air analogue feed - hence the 16:9 content. I believe they also have a feed the other way to get their feed back to the mainland for uplink to DSat etc........................

You can play the national lottery from the Channel Islands, provided you buy the ticket in the UK or get someone to buy it whilst they are there (Gatwick Airport Lotto vendors must get a lot of CI customers!).
A bit OT but is the National Lottery available in the Channel Islands?

Although last time I tried it (early April) when I stuffed a Jersey postcode into my Freesat box, Ch 119 was indeed not available, but the Red Button link to ITV1 HD from CTV on Ch 103 was present, and did work.
The Channel Islands don't have ITV HD for a similar reason.

I think it's just Sky they haven't organised a channel slot for. I haven't checked, but I imagine you can get it if you add it in 'Other Channels' on Sky, but at the moment it doesn't have an EPG number.

Freesat's and Sky's EPGs are totally separate, though of course in most cases the streams they map to are the same.
I suspect Sky's EPG system does not map ITV HD to CI post codes, (for the same reasons it doesn't for UTV and STV area postcodes) just as Freesat's does not either. What's strange is the Red Button link (that is only a Freesat feature) does link from CTV. I suspect it's a technical 'oversight!'
