Looks like Channel Four will be doing lots of things next year to celebrate it's 30th anniversary, not just centred around November. They've already announced that in early January they'll have an evening where lots of their programmes will be mixed up, so the 8 Out of Ten Cats team will be playing Countdown, Alan Carr will replace Phil Spencer in Location Location Location while Phil hosts an episode of the Million Pound Drop where Davina is the contestant. Plus the obligatory Come Dine With Me special, of course.

I see in the BARB ratings DOND is regulary being beaten by BBC2's Flog It (even though it's not on for a further half-hour).

I can't help but feel something terrible is going on internally at C4. Every week I've got Broadcast emails talking about yet another head of department or deputy leaving. Two more went today and two drama bosses left yesterday. I mean I know TV jobs are changed all the time but the sheer amount who have left over the last few weeks alone certainly seems like a lot more than usual.

1982 C4 ident, on C4, just then. Plus some classic style in-vision continuity with Peter Kay, and a classic 1982-style 'tomorrow' promo.

I hope The Big Breakfast is going to be featured in their 30th Birthday celebrations!

Not too surprising - indeed I'm surprised they haven't gone for her before to front the Paralympics and then join the C4 Racing team.

As Clare is freelance these days, assuming BBC are happy to keep her on the Olympics if she did the Paralympics, she could cover both.

What was the reason for this? It's a month too late (or 11 months too early) to be related to their birthday.

Peter Kay Night... Top 43 moments and the TV premiere of Live at the Bolton Albert Halls.

An 'idents-within-an-ident' sequence is now airing, which I'm assuming is for the new Charlie Brooker drama...

Starting in full screen close up, a flat-screen TV is shown switching between some of the current idents - the view pans out to reveal the screen surrounded entirely by black nothingness before switching back to close up and repeating the motion.
