Indeed, if there is a score service I expect the time to be 5pm, if not then it's 4:45pm for definite considering BT always have a 45 minute build up for PL games.
Sky will have a different looking Saturday as well with them gaining the 12:30pm slot.
On the subject of BT I wonder if their Matchday Live thingy will continue next year will all these changes..
I suspect the latter is exactly what will happen, with handover to the football at either 4:45pm or 5:00pm. But either way we'll see quite a different looking Saturday schedule on BT Sport 1 from August.

Or possibly a Pro12 game during FA Cup weekends etc.
All Sky will do is switch the Championship game to the evening.

The original idea of Matchday Live worked really well: almost Grandstand-like. One programme would hand over to the next, so you could sit on your sofa and see Fletch & Sav, the lunchtime kick-off, some rugby, then a couple of European games and an edition or two of SportsHUB, all presented as if it was one show.
It's not been quite so seamless this season though - the Rugby World Cup meant there weren't always live events to show on Saturday afternoons (so you'd often have NBA repeats instead), and European games don't tend to get studio presentation anymore. Plus SportsHUB got canned, despite its logo still being visible in the Matchday Live titles.
They did something similar on Sundays last season too, with the European Football Show sometimes starting as early as 11.30, with Lynsey Hipgrave presenting the first two or three games, before James Richardson took over around 6.30. The daytime games are now just gallery-only, which is obviously cheaper to produce!

Obviously you know far about all this than me, but another change this season is that with the launch of the European channel and the new structure of the BT Sport package, the bigger European games and the studio show on a Sunday is now on BT Sport Europe which means that the original conceit of BT Sport 1 showing the prime content all afternoon has gone.
The original concept at launch, of course, is that it really would be a modern-day Grandstand, with Jake H anchoring it all from the studio, the rugby half-time being used as a football update service and football scores flying around on the screen during the rugby. But that quickly stopped after viewer feedback was very much that the rugby viewers wanted proper rugby coverage. For a little while, Jake still hosted from the studio, but quickly it changed so that the rugby was its own OB presentation. And not long afterwards, the Premier Leage coverage began to be hosted from the grounds.
The original conceit meant that the grammar of the channel is very different to what one is used to. There weren't any clean starts and end of shows, no closing montages or the like, the whole thing just folded through, from Tim Lovejoy handing onto Jake Humphrey and then onto Paul Dempsey, with just the short stings in place of titles. That's remained even though the programmes are a bit more detached now.
It'll be interesting to see how things go with the new package of PL rights, whether BT take this opportunity to change that kind of aesthetic of the channel given that the conceit is changing with the change of kick-off time. Of course, the UEFA stuff has been different anyway, as BT are bound by their contract to show the official titles and so on, so those programmes have felt more conventional.
Incidentally, perhaps you could answer this question - why are BT doing their CL coverage in-house but keeping the rest contracted out to Sunset and Vine? (I think S&V have been doing Europa League this season, but this goes to BT in house from next season?) It's not like they were using S&V to start the channel up and gradually develop their own production house, as they renewed the bulk of the content deal with S&V reasonable recently, covering the new PL contract. Second question: does this distinction change who is involved in the making of the coverage? I.e. Is it just the same production team getting their payment from a different employer, or does BT employ different producers/directors for their in-house UEFA coverage to the S&V team who make the PL coverage? I haven't seen this answered satisfactorily anywhere this season, and I wonder, given your ins at BT, whether you might be able to shed some light on the situation. Thanks

madmusician: I don't know for sure, but I think the split in production companies might come down to utilisation of staff. If BT Sport Productions takes on a producer on staff, then they'll want to get their money's worth from them - but they're not going to find as much for them to do over the quieter summer months. Contracting some programmes to S+V means that it's someone else's problem to occupy their staff during what would otherwise be downtime, and - as I'm sure you're aware - S+V have plenty of other contracts, and their staff who work on BT Sport programmes are often working elsewhere too. This way, they get the talent, but less of the risk. (I'm aware that producers could be on long-term contracts or freelance rather than staff.)
In terms of other staff, the same studio crew will often do a programme from one production company, immediately followed by one for another.
You're right that S+V have been producing the Europa League this season - I wasn't aware that this was going to change, but our department is quite down the pecking order when it comes to finding out this kind of thing!
(I should note that the views here are my own and not of my employer, which is neither BT Sport nor Sunset+Vine!)

S+V would have ensured they were protected in their initial contracts as much as possible so that BT couldn't turn around after a year or two and say they were taking everything in house. Similarly BT Sport is still in it's infancy - probably makes more sense for them to produce a couple of matches a week than half a dozen for reasons thegeek highlights above.

Thanks for that - really interesting. This press release details the new S&V contract - turns out that their first contract was for the first three years of the channel (which obviously included Europa League) and this new extension is just for two years - so not quite moving in step with the PL rights cycle any more. Clearly this new contract extension does not include EL as the link below specifically states Europa League for 2015/16 season only.
