BT are to offer ALL BT Sport channels to Smartphone and Tablet EE customers shortly

Further details in the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2016/jul/11/ee-mobile-bt-sport-premier-league-european-club-football

this bit is interesting:
Quote:
EE chief executive Marc Allera said he did not anticipate the deal – which does not allow customers to sideload content from the BT Sport app to their TV – would cannibalise those BT customers who already pay for its sports and other channels.

I wonder if that means they'll be disabling AirPlay/Chromecast capability?

Meanwhile, the first of the Champions League qualifiers has now been confirmed (as alluded to in Derek Rae's tweet) - Lincoln Red Imps v Celtic, tomorrow night. It looks like it was originally due to be on Premier Sports - indeed, it's still on the schedule for Eir Sport 2.

Just a heads up to anyone recording the O.J.: Made in America documentary being shown on BT Sport this week, it appears episodes 1-4 are on BT Sport 1, but the fifth and last episode on Friday is on BT Sport 2 instead. So if you've got a series link on BT Sport 1, you'll miss the last episode - make sure to record it separately.

If missed they are all being shown on BT Sport ESPN next week.

Heard some discussion that BTS UHD might be available on Sky Q UHD from August, maybe reciprocal arrangements to bring SSUHD to BT YouView will follow if true.

While I couldn't possibly comment on rumours from around the internet...

Charles Sale's column last week:
Quote:
Sky Sports, whose debut live Open coverage starts with Colin Montgomerie hitting the first drive at 6.35 on Thursday morning, will be facing new opposition for their established cult programme Soccer Saturday next season.

BT Sport are launching their own version of the show with a panel commentating off TV feeds and busy all-rounder Mark Pougatch acting as BT's answer to Jeff Stelling.

BT are confident that the fast-talking Pougatch, who fronts ITV Sport's football as well as working for BBC 5 Live, will prove a viable alternative to Stelling — who has made Soccer Saturday his own, with catchphrases such as Chris Kamara's 'Unbelievable Jeff!'

The new show will kick off at 2.30pm and is also expected to feature Dave Todd — an expert football statistician who has worked with Stelling in the past — to give Pougatch some additional ammunition.

meanwhile, Sportsmole reports that BT Sport Europe is to become BT Sport 3, and BT Sport Ultra HD will become BT Sport 4K UHD.

I don't see that lasting very long unless it really is unique and able to capture a different audience from Soccer Saturday.

Good. This will force the needed reshuffle on Sky then.
Because if BT Sport Europe says where it is, but changes name you'll have in order on the EPG - BT Sport 1, BT Sport 3, BT Sport 2, BT Sport/ESPN

BT Sport Ultra HD will become BT Sport 4K UHD.

Thats worse than SSNHQHD. I do think in TV terms at least Ultra HD is a more recognised term than 4K.

Do you think? Currys adverts are the litmus test for me, and they consistently say 4K, don't they?

Yes, I've never heard anyone say "I've got an Ultra HD TV" it's always '4K'.
bilky asko and dosxuk gave kudos

I've always heard it referred it to in real life as UHD or Ultra HD, FWIW
