Fans of the music used on Bid and Price Drop might be interested to know that Price Drop just played the Batman theme tune. Seemed to be the real thing rather than an Audio Network sound-alike.

Those dull plain walls and shelves in the Price Drop studio have been replaced by some gold shiny covering.

Still doesn't fit in with the rest of the studio for me... wish they'd take the area to the left of the studio where the steps are (the only part which looks like a set designer was involved) and replicate that throughout.

I notice that bid plus has actually stopped broadcasting now. I didn't see what time it went off air. I expect the EPG position will disappear soon.

Nothing we didn't suspect, I suppose. I wonder how many viewers Bid or Price Drop really get. Obviously on this kind of channel the number of buyers is all that matters but it would be interesting to know how many people are watching right now.

Apparently it was Justin Hazel's last shift this evening. He only announced it during his last minute on air. He seemed a little upset about it.

One of 'the bosses' just came in to the studio and told Lisa Brash that the gold wall will look better by the morning. Stay tuned, I guess.

I reckon there are a good number of people who watch and don't buy, or at least don't buy every time they watch. It really would be interesting to see viewing figures.

Bilky Asko, your tweeted question was just answered by Lisa Brash. She said "Michael Jackson everywhere".

Thank you very much for that David. I managed to see her read it out and mispronounce both my names. I think Michael Jackson everywhere would be a far more interesting set than the current one.

Blimey, Christmas on these channels gets earlier and earlier!

Blimey, Christmas on these channels gets earlier and earlier!

Sitting with the sun streaming through the window and thinking about Christmas just seems wrong. However, I think it's a general thing these days for at least some Christmas stuff to start in September in most shops (and then ramping it up on November 1st).

I see that bid has got rid of the bush, and gone for a bit of faux stone, and a fire on an LCD screen with poor colour calibration.

EDIT: There is still a bit of bush left, blended into the fir pillars.

Price Drop has yet again drawn the short straw, and has ended up with a rather disappointing result.

I haven't been keeping with the ASA rulings with bid shopping recently, but the one published on August 28th is a really interesting one. Firstly, the ASA have stopped referring to "Bid TV" and now simply say "Bid"; secondly, the quote quite clearly shows that the person involved is Peter Simon, and thirdly that it seems the flow of complaints hasn't really stopped.

http://asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2013/8/sit_up-Ltd/SHP_ADJ_231932.aspx - bid, Upheld.

EDIT: Looking back, there's another interesting adjudication - the below one is blow for the £10 credit. It also specifically mentions Guy Kean:
