Could the background theme of the 'Christmas TV 2016' website and social media be a clue? I guess it's possible they could go with the 2013 approach, and just use a 'plain and simple' ident.

That's so boring and generic. Again, people doing things with a logo slapped on top. It could've come from an advert for any supermarket or department store.
I hate this never ending trend.

It seems very clear that the BBC Christmas ident launch will be this evening. BBC2 has begun using the Christmas endboards and Christmas branded boxed logo.

Well to be fair, the past few years haven't been 'slapped on'. This is actually different, feels like a film.
People will never be happy.

I agree this time, I was just joking with that Tesco reference
I like it, although I wouldn't put it against the Sprout Boy.. they're just two different and respectable things
Well, I like it. It demonstrates different ways that people come together at Christmas, I actually applaud the two gay men kissing scene. Christmas in the 21st Century is reflected quite acurately in that film. I suspect many will complain, but I think it's much better than Sprout Boy.
