There is loads of July 7 bombings coverage on the Sky New catchup service. There's the whole of the 9am Sunrise hour presented by Stephen (at that point) Dixon and Lorna Dunkley.

That studio with the old newswall worked really well, but I guess wouldn't look so good with today's HD standards.

Hand-edited by yours truly. More to come.

Is the 7/7 material going on the NOW TV/Roku Sky News app?

Possibly, though that's not really within my responsibilities, so I can't say for certain. I'll give more details if and when I can.

I've looked and its not there now, although the 6 minute report is in the vault section.

Interesting to see 7/7 initial reports .

Can anyone in the know explain why on playback of this recording , the news banner seems to bend as if you are watching on an CRT tv?

I remember Sky did the same in 2007 for Diana.

Hope Sky add more stuff regarding major events, from the first reports, seeing how it all unfolded will be even more important for generations to come.

I prefer the simple design of the time although for HD it would need a tweak.

New Sky News logo and background featuring on SkyNews.com

I can't say I noticed. Smile

The HD part of the logo is out of alignment on Sky News HD. At least on my TV. In my view Sky should just ditch the HD part.

Anyone would think HD was a premium service these days, oh wait, it is. Mad

It's most likely to stop people thinking it's live coverage of an attack maybe?

The old logo was burnt onto the output. If you've chosen to watch it (which is the whole point of Catch-Up), you're going to know it's not live.

All five hours (that we've chosen) of the breaking news coverage are now up.

Obviously, the primary aim is to show how we covered the story journalistically, but pres enthusiasts will probably enjoy seeing the 5pm TOTH in (upscaled) HD.

For those who don't have access to the Catch-Up service, I've edited together an 8.5-minute reel of the live output that may turn up online at some point.

Will the Sky News catch-up service go onto Sky Go any time soon? It does seem a bit odd that it is only on "connected TV's"...

I can't comment on that.
