Hopefully this doesn't mean the end of the VoiceOver. Plus a bit frustrating that the typical blue sky news backgrounds are apparently lost to totally white ones.

For Ed Miliband's nametag right there there was no white space to it, just the picture.

Lets hope that is a feature on a lot more straps:)

Name straps still appear to be sized to fit the text inside them.

I assumed yes. The timeline layout?

Do we know why Sky & BBC have a different figure for the Tories ? 330 & 331 seats respectively ?

BBC count the Speaker as Conservative rather than Independent.

Bit daft that there isn't a consensus on this. ITV going with 331 as well.

I like that the breaking news straps are distinctive to the regular straps once more.

Some of it does look a bit like a previous Sky Sports News look (albeit without the sidebar).

On another note, Broadcast say Sky News had a TV audience of 305,000 from 10pm to 2am. Just over 7,000 for the Sky Arts special.

Right then. It took me all of... five minutes? To swap the first-half of the Sky News theme for the more uplifting, more final-sounding second half, and make the join between the theme and the bed less jarring*, and make the opening of the 'shutters' more punchy, and I didn't even have to retime the headline bed to do it.

So... Why's the real thing so sloppy? Not a fan.

* And it'd be less jarring still if I'd bothered to find the TOTH music with a longer ending. As it is, I had to cut it off because it had loud gunshots all over it. Zipper
