I think it's more of broadcasting with a pretty view, because.

It does seem to be that way:
CNN moves to Washington rooftop for final days of campaign.

Loads of simulcasting of Domestic on CNN International since Friday. I've caught The Lead, Situation Room, OutFront and now New Day.

Looking forward to Wednesday night, and hopefully getting back into a normal UK sleeping pattern again.

Would certainly make it far more watchable.

Tim Vine is about as funny as a lobotomy.

Nevertheless...

I think they may be making some minor adjustments to the DC studio, but it's been on-air concurrently with this setup, so nothing major. This is only a temporary setup outdoors on the roof of the US Chamber of Commerce building, so I think it's more of broadcasting with a pretty view, because.

It's being set for Tuesday's main show and rehearsals are taking place. We've only seen a static shot of people using the magic wall. The Newsroom has also been set.

Will CNN HD on Sky relay the CNN US election coverage? Or is it different for the international channel.

Simulcast starting properly tomorrow morning. There'll be some CNNI normal programming but from Monday evening it'll be solid simulcast until Thursday.

Does something like this happen to the studio if Trump gets elected?

They will be in the studio on the night itself, but an impressive backdrop for the week before the election on CNN:

This looks fantastic. Just watching it now and the backdrop is a beautiful sunrise over the Washington Monument.

Are they upgrading the main DC studio for election night, or are they just using the rooftop studio because they want to?

Wonder how warm it is...

Possible hint at MSNBC's election Graphics.

Now the breaking news banner is translucent and you can see that it's keyed over other breaking news headlines. They quickly fixed it.

A good question. Washington DC has been experiencing a November heatwave so it has really enabled a lot of summer-like outdoor presentation. Daytime temperatures on Tuesday are set to be around 19, dipping to 16 on Wednesday. Some rain is forecast for Wednesday though, so there could be rather ominous storm clouds over DC once the victor is announced. Confused

I saw Gloria Borger bundled up in a coat and scarf a few nights ago. Otherwise, everyone appears to be dressed as if they were in an indoor studio. Maybe they finally bought some space heaters.
