Is today Debbie's last day or has she already left?

I think she has left, without send off. Fred said a pretty firm 'sadly that's it from us' on Wednesday.

I think Gemma's leaving given the fact Ian made a big thing saying "you've been with Meridian for 9 years.."

And a farewell from Ian at the end of the final South East evening bulletin of Meridian Tonight.

"I won't be going far...Join Fred Dinenage on Monday"

I really hope Gemma is not going ??!

Simon Parkin is staying around so maybe they don't need Gemma as well.

Sadly Debbie was not on tonight & at the end of tonights "south" edition Fred told of the "new look" Meridian Tonight from Monday. Then said unfortunately Debbie is moving on & they played a montage of clips... Quite sad really & Fred looked upset, (despite the fact earlier he was showing his award won last night for services to broadcasting...45 years in all!). Fred then said he would be joined by Sangeeta & a clip showed them rehearsing together...
He did however confirm that Debbie may be back from time to time...
I think it's such a shame she never had a proper send off...

Have to just mention that South Today even covered Fred's award... Sally Taylor got one too, presented by Fred! Was quite strange seeing them two together, lol!

So there we go it's an end of an era for Fred and Debbie, Ian and Sangheeta and Wes And Mary.

Very sombre the south's ending tonight wasn't it, compared with SE?

Gemma re-appearing with her coat on ?! I don't like the sound of this...

Hmm, have to wait and see. She's doing the weekend bulletins apparently but whether she'll return on Monday is another thing. Like Ben says, they have Simon Parkin now.

The reason they said Simon will presenting the weather on Thames Valley Tonight I assume is so viewers will se a face that they will recognize on the new program. Also Gemma is probably staying on becasue Simon can't wrk on his own 7 days a week on the weather. Ang I think Martyn may have left Meridian Weather. Correct Me If I'm Worng.
