The whole ITV Local website needs scrapping and starting again, looks rather dated. Also does anyone know who will be presenting the new pan-regional Meridian Tonight?

So tommorow at 6pm will be the final edition of Meridian Tonight or Thames Valley Tonight before the three regional programs merge. Why not post any memories to share with us, if you are happy or not about the changes. So tune in to your final full 30 minute edition of Meridian Toight tommorow at 6pm. News in the south won't be the same ever again.

I reckon they'll just say "And some changes are on the way on Monday" as the camera pans out which will be very disappointing.

I remember when Phil Hornby left presenting Meridian Tonight SE - there was no mention at all and we were suddenly greeted with Ian and Sangeeta as if nothing had happened. Charlotte left for Sky a few months before ISTR. Mind you Phil was very twitchy when presenting and clearly didn't enjoy it.

In a way it'll be nice seeing Fred in the South East again after all these years - I think the last time he was seen here (news wise) was in the Southern days when he did the sport (I could be wrong though). I think a lot of viewers in the SE will be wondering what's going on if there's no explanation - which there most likely won't be.

If Wesley gets it his way there will deff be more than a mention - he will explain it all to us.

Does make you wonder what they're going to do for a backdrop. The weekend green couldn't be more plain and boring and choosing one of the existing ones over another would alienate a lot of viewers. Guess they'll probably just choose a totally different one. Any ideas where the centre of this new super region is? Laughing

Check out itvlocal.com/meridian/news for the new itvlocal news page.

It's still the same and the same rubbish embedded flash player. They're going to have to try better.

I wish it was a Flash player - it's a hateful WMV thing.

Yep - I think Fred was last seen as a regular news presenter in the SE region in the days of Southern when he was on Day by Day. (Which was pan-regional Mon-Thur, with a split Northam/Dover show on Friday I think?)

Yeah. 'Scene South East' came from Dover presented by Mike Field - who still occasionally reports for Meridian.
