mini video wall ?? - no idea what you mean but the backgroud usually has a pic or film of the tower thingy in Southhampton
The Spinnaker tower is in Portsmouth. And it's not used at weekends because the bulletins are pan-regional.
For a while they used the view of Brighton Palace Pier from the Brighton bureau for the weekend bulletins. Shame they went back to the horrible animated backdrop.
Really...We really could do with a new region for the East Sussex / Brighton area, It's daft that the South and SE versions often double up if there's a Brighton (area) story. Not that this will ever happen..
Can't judge whether its an improvement or not really...the split screen animation at the end just fades out into the usual caption - it would look better if it swept past, revealing the Meridian Tonight name IMO.
I noticed tonight's MT didn't have the usual blurb at the end to disguise the awkward ending as we wait...and wait...for the National titles to appear. I guess someone didn't get around to re-doing them for w/s.
Has anyone else noticed that the feed from South East Today has been really jumpy for the past month or so? Whenever the half hour 6:30 South East Today is on, the picture will jump at least 2 times during the show and sometimes the picture will go black for a second. This also happens during the Breakfast bulletins too.
This jump can happen during the studio bits, a report or a live two-way so its not just one source that has the problem. I haven't noticed it on any regional promos or The Politics Show although I have only seen a few minutes of the later. I also don't know if it happens on The Nature of Britain or Inside Out.
I don't remember it happening on the Children in Need opts but it was happening on SET during the same period.
Please tell me someone else has seen this 'jumping picture'. It doesn't really bother me, its just odd that they haven't fixed it or even mentioned it on air.
