Insults ? Oh dear, I think you're being rather over-sensitive !

Not at all - just tired of this conversation. You're entitled to your opinions and so am I. Let's agree to disagree?

IMO LondonLive should have ramped up coverage. Special Strike Update Programmes in the early morning before the commute gets started and across the day. But of course in the days leading up to the strike they should have been prepping the public with what to expect what they can do. And what officials are saying or not saying.

There are some brilliant radio traffic reporters. LL should have made sure at launched they poached or simulcast a proper "knowing" (lol) traffic reporter instead of the dreadful Baffoe.

Also If 40% percent of the population doesnt have a car than it stands to reason that alot of people also use public transport also other than just commuting to work and are using it to simply get around the city at other times of day. 28.3million is a heck of alot of people.

If run like CP24 or NY1 this station could have been a huge win for Londoners and gold mine for ESI. Missed opportunity.

Again, there's just no point comparing London Live to Canadian or American stations which were created because the market demanded them...rather than something which was dreamed up by politicians. Local TV will never be a thing in London. Maybe before the internet it could have been...but not now.

London Live is not one tube strike away from being a rip-roaring success.

You're so right, it might not, because it doesnt seem to be done correctly. Baffoe...Vicki Cook...Scodie....LOL. Funny how North America, Scotland, Spain, Moscow, Sydney, Tokyo, Bogota, etc all have the internet too and local stations are successful on various levels. And certainly no a tube strike wont reverse LL into a rip-roaring success. Of course not, but it would have been a feather in their cap had it been covered as they claimed they were going to do. THEY didnt fulfill what they said THEY said THEY were going to do.
Quote:
"The Standard's journalists will ensure Londoners have the news first with rolling public transport and road traffic news at peak commuter and viewing hours and London Live will have the ability to disrupt schedules to cover major news stories"

Putting forth little to no effort yields little to no results.... the rubbish that LL currently is today. They were too busy being "knowing and celebratory" to cover what they should have been doing all along.

A good example showing that there is always enough news for an urban TV station to cover is BTV in Barcelona, which airs both city-wide newscasts...

...and segments focusing on specific neighborhoods:

As an aside, Barcelona Televisió is owned by the Barcelona City Council.

Anthony Baxter appears to be the only presenter who's been able to get to the studio as he presented this evening as well as the breakfast/lunch bulletins and Live from London.
