Usually, ITV doesn't have regional news on Christmas Eve anymore but I think there was a regional bulletin today because it's Saturday and so I guess it was decided not to have regional news last night.
There was a regional bulletin today. Typical Saturday running order. Back on Wednesday.

There used to be a full-length regional bulletin in the early evening on Christmas Eve on ITV (as well as a normal-length ITN Early Evening News before it). I know the recent history of the ITV Network but I find it difficult to comprehend the cut to which ITV plc has subjected regional news.

I thought ITV usually had Christmas Eve regional news, but during GMB? (which would explain why there was an unusual Christmas Eve teatime regional news this year)

The bulletins on GMB don't count as part of the national and regional news quotas because ITV Breakfast is teachnically separate from the rest of the ITV Network. Besides, I remember reading on this forum last year that the regional bulletins on GMB on Christmas Eve have been dropped.
Does anyone know where there is no regional news on Monday? I know they never show regional bulletins on New Years Day but surely Monday is just another Bank Holiday?

I'm guessing ITV are thinking "if we can get away with it, why not?"

Perhaps you should consider making a complaint to Ofcom when normal service resumes on Tuesday.
It's not just another Bank Holiday Monday - it's a substitute bank holiday for New Years Day (as New Years Day falls on a Sunday this year). So I expect the allowances usually afforded to the 1st Jan just roll on to the 2nd.
All it says in licence is something vague about the fact that normal hourly requirements don't apply "at Christmas" but that regional bulletins must continue to be aired "at intervals" throughout this period.
At least the early evening editions that do air between Christmas and New Year are longer than the usual weekend 5 mins.
Even though its a day in lieu of New Years Day its still called just Bank Holiday Monday. Im sure in previous years when New Year has fallen at the weekend they have aired the usual Bank Holiday bulletins on the Monday. Same when Christmas falls at weekend but this year they didnt.
I wont consider a complaint to ofcom as im not bothered, i just wondered if there was a reason why.
